Declaration That Land is a Recreation Reserve—Port Ohope, Whakatane District

Pursuant to section 14 of the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Whakatane District Council hereby notifies that a resolution was adopted at its meeting on 18 December 2013, declaring the parcels of land in the Schedule hereto to be a recreation reserve subject to the Reserves Act 1977.

Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve and Specifying the Manner of Disposal and How to Utilise the Proceeds of Sale

Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Conservation Partnerships Manager for the Waikato District of the Department of Conservation, having delegated authority from the Minister of Conservation, hereby revokes the reservation as a recreation reserve over the land described in the Schedule hereto and declares the land may be disposed of by the South Waikato District Council in such manner, at such price and on such terms and conditions as the council shall determine, the proceeds from sale to be paid into its reserves account for the purposes of acquiring new reserves or applying towards the improvement of other reserves.

In exercise of the powers conferred on it by delegated authority under the Reserves Act 1977, the Whangarei District Council notifies the following resolution passed by the Council on 26 February 2014:

Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993

Redefining the Persons or Class of Persons for Whose Use or Benefit the Reservation is Made

Pursuant to section 338(5)(d) of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993, the purpose of the lands described in the Schedule hereto, set apart as a Māori reservation by notices in the New Zealand Gazette, 7 September 1989, No. 156, page 4141, and New Zealand Gazette, 13 April 1995, No. 35, page 970, is hereby redefined in terms of the persons or class of persons for whose use or benefit the reservation is made by replacing “the descendants of Ruia and Tuia Hapakuku” with “the descendants of Rui and Kahutaewa-Te Mariko Ruia”.
