Entry Criteria
Students who are gifted and talented and whose home school is unable to provide the curriculum enrichment and acceleration required.
Applications must be supported by a current IEP less than six months old (which may be developed with Te Kura in anticipation of an application).
Registrations, at the request of the principal, and at the discretion of Te Kura will only be accepted where:
(a) PAT, TOSCA, asTTle or equivalent assessments show that the student is exceptionally able and in the top 5% of their age group, and
(b) the registering school substantiates that:
- the dual tuition is essential to the student’s learning programme;
- and it can appropriately supervise and integrate the tuition; and
- it is undertaking a programme of development to enhance their ability to provide similar enrichment and extension programmes.
