Any animal moved in contravention of this notice may be seized by an inspector or authorised person and
destroyed, treated or otherwise dealt with, if it is reasonable in the circumstances to do so. TBfree New Zealand
may also recover the cost of testing for bovine tuberculosis pursuant to the Biosecurity Act 1993 and the
Biosecurity (Deer and Other Testing Costs) Regulations 1998. Failure to comply with the requirements of this
notice may result in prosecution under the Biosecurity Act 1993. If convicted, an individual will be liable to a term
of imprisonment not exceeding three months, or a fine not exceeding $50,000.00, or both. A corporation convicted
of an offence is liable to a fine not exceeding $100,000.00.
Revocation
The declaration issued on the 1st day of March 2013 in regard to movement controls for bovine tuberculosis and
published in the New Zealand Gazette, 28 February 2013, No. 24, page 653, and in Rural News on 5 March 2013 is
hereby revoked, with effect from 1 March 2014.
Summary of Changes
This declaration has the effect of revoking part of the Central North Island Movement Control Area, part of the
Southern North Island Movement Control Area and North Canterbury Movement Control Area, as shown in
the areas marked as \"Movement Control Area reduction\" in maps attached to this notice.
