Land Set Apart as Reserve

Under the Land Act 1948, the Director, Conservation Partnerships for the North and Western South Island Region of the Department of Conservation, sets apart the Crown land described in the Schedule for historic reserve purposes, subject to the provisions of the Reserves Act 1977.

Notice of Intention to Take Easement Interests for Road—Transmission Gully Link Roads Project, Porirua City

Notice is hereby given that the Porirua City Council ("Council"), under the provisions of section 23 of the Public Works Act 1981, proposes to take the easement interests described in the Schedule to this notice ("the easements") for road for the Transmission Gully Link Roads Project.

The reasons why the Council considers it reasonably necessary to take the easements are:

a. To provide a more efficient, safer and more reliable road access between the eastern Porirua suburbs and the Hutt Valley, Wellington City and Kapiti Coast;

b. To reduce the adverse effects of traffic on the environment in Porirua by encouraging the use of Transmission Gully; and

c. To support an integrated approach to regional and local land transport and development.

The intended use is generally in accordance with the designation in the district plan.

The owners of the easements have been served with notice of the Council’s intention to take the easements and advised of their right to object.

Any other person having the right to object may send a written objection to the Registrar, Environment Court.
