Notice Declaring the Clean Zones and Clean Periods for ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Match Venues

Pursuant to section 16(1) of the Major Events Management Act 2007 (“the Act”), the Minister for Economic Development gives the following notice:

  1. Commencement and purpose—This notice, which comes into force on the day of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette, declares the clean zones and clean periods pursuant to section 16 of the Act for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 match venues.

  2. Clean zones and clean periods—(1) The clean zone and clean periods for each ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 match venue are set out in the Schedules as follows:

    Schedule 1: Eden Park, Auckland
    Schedule 2: Seddon Park, Hamilton
    Schedule 3: McLean Park, Napier
    Schedule 4: Wellington Regional Stadium, Wellington
    Schedule 5: Saxton Oval, Nelson
    Schedule 6: Hagley Oval, Christchurch
    Schedule 7: University Oval, Dunedin

    (2) The clean zones described in the Schedules include the land comprising the streets or roads that form the border of each clean zone up to the boundary of any abutting land at the outside edge of the clean zone.

  3. Excluded land and buildings—For the avoidance of doubt, the clean zones described in the Schedules to this notice do not include any excluded land or buildings as defined in section 16(5) of the Act.

The area shown in Map A, being the area bordered by and including:

a. New North Road from Morningside Drive to Bond Street;

b. Bond Street from New North Road to the State Highway 16 overpass;

c. New North Road from Bond Street to Stormont Place;

d. A direct line from the intersection of Stormont Place with New North Road to the intersection of Onslow Road and Marlborough Street (including the portion of Onslow Road);

e. Marlborough Street from Onslow Road to Tongariro Street;

f. Tongariro Street;

g. Royal Terrace;

h. Sandringham Road from Royal Terrace to Shaw Street;

i. Shaw Street;

j. Collins Street;
