Notice of Direction to Appoint a Limited Statutory Manager for the Maraenui Bilingual School (Napier) (2604) Board of Trustees

Under section 78M of the Education Act 1989, with delegated authority from the Minister of Education, I hereby direct the appointment of a limited statutory manager for the Maraenui Bilingual School (Napier) Board of Trustees.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are to be vested in a limited statutory manager:

• All functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer (whether statutory or otherwise); and
• all functions, powers and duties of the board in curriculum management, including teaching and assessment practice (whether statutory or otherwise).

This notice takes effect on the day of publication.

Under section 78M of the Education Act 1989, with delegated authority from the Minister of Education, I hereby direct the appointment of a limited statutory manager for the Gisborne Girls’ High School Board of Trustees.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are to be vested in a limited statutory manager:

• All functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer (whether statutory or otherwise); and
• all functions, powers and duties of the board to manage financial operations (whether statutory or otherwise).

A limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following matters:

• The remaining areas where improved practice is required, as identified in the August 2014 Education Review Office report.

This notice takes effect on the day of publication.

Board of Trustees Student Election Extension Notice

Pursuant to clause 9(2) of the Sixth Schedule to the Education Act 1989, and with delegated authority from the Minister of Education, I hereby extend the date for selection of a returning officer and all subsequent actions in accordance with the Education (School Trustee Elections) Regulations 2000 for the election of the student representative for the board of trustees for Hamilton Junior High School (1942), Hamilton.

Voting for the election will close on 12 November 2014.

This notice takes effect the day of publication in the New Zealand Gazette.
