Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996
Approved Maritime Surveillance Equipment Under the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996
Whereas, pursuant to section 441 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Minister of Transport did delegate those powers under section 35 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to Maritime New Zealand by an instrument of delegation dated 19 March 1997.
And whereas, pursuant to section 442 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, Maritime New Zealand did delegate those powers under section 35 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Director of Maritime New Zealand by an instrument of delegation dated 15 and 17 January 2008.
Therefore I, Keith Manch, Director of Maritime New Zealand, hereby approve the following equipment to be approved maritime surveillance equipment for the purposes of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996:
Approved Maritime Surveillance Equipment
- Sperry NAVIGAT X MK II gyrocompass (Type 4991, Serial # 10398).
- Silicon Systems D2500CC bridge computer (Intel® Atom© CPU D2500 @ 1.86Ghz, Serial # SS28746).
- ViewSonic VA1926w monitor (model VS11755, Serial # QQT075022591).
- Koden GPS Navigator (model KGP-913 Mk II, Serial # 91337133).
This notice comes into force on the day after the date of notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Appointment of Person to be a Protection Officer Under the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996
Whereas, pursuant to section 441 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Minister of Transport did delegate those powers under section 16 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to Maritime New Zealand by an instrument of delegation dated 19 March 1997.
And whereas, pursuant to section 442 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, Maritime New Zealand did delegate those powers under section 16 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Director of Maritime New Zealand by an instrument of delegation dated December 2010.
Therefore I, Keith Manch, Director of Maritime New Zealand, hereby appoint the following person to be a protection officer under the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996, and in association with the Transpower Cook Strait helicopter patrol service:
Adam Edward Stranan, of Auckland.
This notice comes into force on the day after the date of notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

New Zealand Transport Agency (Wellington Tunnels) Bylaw 2014
Pursuant to section 61(3) of the Government Roading Powers Act 1989 for the purposes specified in section 22AB(1)(c), (1)(h), (1)(o)(iv) and (1)(o)(vii) of the Land Transport Act 1998, the NZ Transport Agency makes the following bylaw.
Bylaw

Title and commencement—This bylaw may be cited as the New Zealand Transport Agency (Wellington Tunnels) Bylaw 2014 and shall come into force 28 days after the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

Application and scope—
Terrace Motorway Tunnel—Where this bylaw applies to the Terrace Motorway Tunnel it will have effect as follows:
Northbound on State Highway 1 from the intersection of Willis Street / Abel Tasman Street and Karo Drive, along Karo Drive and through the Terrace Motorway Tunnel to the junction of the Clifton Terrace on-ramp; and
Southbound on State Highway 1 from the junction of the Terrace off-ramp and through the Terrace Motorway Tunnel to the Willis Street intersection.
Arras Tunnel—Where this bylaw applies to the Arras Tunnel it will have effect as follows:
Westbound from the intersection of Sussex Street and State Highway 1, through the Arras Tunnel to the intersection of State Highway 1 and Taranaki Street.
Mount Victoria Tunnel—Where this bylaw applies to the Mount Victoria Tunnel it will have effect as follows:
