Notice of Application to Register a Trade Name Product (Notice No. MPI 187)

Maree Zinzley, Manager (Approvals Operations) of the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), acting under delegated authority from the Director-General of MPI, gives notice, under section 14(1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997 (“the Act”), that the Director-General of MPI gives notice that the following application has been made to register a trade name product under section 9(1) of the Act:

Trade Name: Cobalt Advanced

Reference: P008826

Active Ingredients and Concentrations:

• Chlorpyrifos 300g/litre
• Lambda-cyhalothrin 15.4g/L

Formulation Type: EW – Oil in water emulsion

General Use Claims:
For insect control in cereals, forage brassicas, maize, and potatoes.

Any person may make a written submission to the director-general concerning this application.

Under sections 16 and 17 of the Act, a written submission:

(a) must state in full the reasons for making the submission; and

(b) may state any decision sought on that application; and

(c) must be received by the director-general no later than 30 working days after the date of notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Under section 18 of the Act, a copy of every submission will be forwarded to the applicant for the applicant’s information.

Public Finance Act 1989

Statement of Indemnity Given Under the Public Finance Act 1989

Pursuant to section 65ZD of the Public Finance Act 1989, the Minister of Finance makes the following statement:

“On the 8th day of July 2013 I, The Honourable Simon William English, Minister of Finance, on behalf of the Crown, gave an indemnity to Airways Corporation of New Zealand Limited (Airways) in relation to its contract with the New Zealand Defence Force for the provision of air traffic control services. The indemnity relates to any claim brought against Airways by third parties arising from military flight operations undertaken by the Royal New Zealand Air Force, and is effective from the date of the contract.”

The indemnity provided to Airways on 28 June 2013 by the Acting Minister of Finance was revoked on the date this statement of indemnity was signed.

Statement of Indemnity Given Under the Public Finance Act 1989

Pursuant to section 65ZD(3) of the Public Finance Act 1989, the Minister of Finance makes the following statement:

“On the 10th day of July 2013, I, The Honourable Simon William English, Minister of Finance, on behalf of the Crown, gave a tax indemnity to the trustees of the Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Takoto as described under Part 2 of the General Matters Schedule of the Deed of Settlement for Ngāi Takoto signed on 27 October 2012 and which is to apply from the date of such signing (namely 27 October 2012).”

Statement of Export Credit Office Guarantee Given Under the Public Finance Act 1989

Pursuant to section 65ZD(3) of the Public Finance Act 1989, the Minister of Finance makes the following statement:

“On 1 November 2012, the Deputy Secretary, Financial Operations and Head of NZDMO acting for and on behalf of the Honourable Bill English, Minister of Finance on behalf of the Crown, provided a New Zealand Export Credit Office Supplier Credit Guarantee to Sanford Limited to support the export of fish and shellfish to an off-shore buyer. The New Zealand Export Credit Office’s maximum guarantee liability is USD 8,400,000. A premium, commensurate with the risk, is required to be paid for this Guarantee.”
