Land Transport Rules
In accordance with section 161(2) of the Land Transport Act 1998, the NZ Transport Agency, on behalf of the Minister of Transport, gives notice of the Minister’s intention to amend nine Land Transport Rules, and advises that Land Transport Rule: Omnibus Amendment 2013 (the Rule) is available for public comment.
The Rule proposes minor or technical changes to the following Land Transport Rules:
- Heavy-vehicle Brakes 2006 (Rule 32015)
- Light-vehicle Brakes 2002 (Rule 32014)
- Road User 2004 (Rule 61001)
- Seatbelts and Seatbelt Anchorages 2002 (Rule 32011)
- Traffic Control Devices 2004 (Rule 54002)
- Vehicle Dimensions and Mass 2002 (Rule 41001)
- Vehicle Exhaust Emissions 2007 (Rule 33001/2)
- Vehicle Lighting 2004 (Rule 32005)
- Vehicle Standards Compliance 2002 (Rule 35001/1)
A copy of Land Transport Rule: Omnibus Amendment 2013 and information about the amendment proposals is available by calling the NZ Transport Agency Contact Centre on freephone 0800 699 000 or on the website at
www.nzta.govt.nz/consultation/omnibus-amendment-2013/index.html.
The consultation material is also available for viewing at the NZ Transport Agency’s National Office and regional offices.
Groups and individuals who have registered an interest in the Rules to be amended have been advised of the availability of the Rule for comment.
Submissions on Land Transport Rule: Omnibus Amendment 2013 close on 29 July 2013.

Continental Shelf Act 1964
Declaration of Reservation of Land
Pursuant to section 28A of the Crown Minerals Act 1991 and section 5AA of the Continental Shelf Act 1964, the Minister of Energy and Resources declares that permits for minerals other than petroleum will not be granted, or extended, in relation to the seabed or subsoil of the continental shelf (the "land") specified in the Schedule below.
Pursuant to section 28A(4) of the Crown Minerals Act 1991, this declaration does not affect any:
(a) permit applications received before this declaration was published; or
(b) permit granted before this declaration was published; or
(c) right under section 32 of the holder of a permit described in paragraph (b) to be granted a subsequent permit.
This declaration has effect on and from 4 July 2013 to 4 July 2015.
