Notification by the Chief Executive of the Department of Corrections Pursuant to Section 45A of the Corrections Act 2004: Rules About Authorised Property

I, Christine Stevenson, National Commissioner Corrections Services and holder of the delegated powers of the Chief Executive of the Department of Corrections, hereby give notice that on 4 June 2013, I will make rules, under section 45A of the Corrections Act 2004, declaring the items of property that prisoners may be issued with or allowed to keep and imposing conditions that attach to those items.

The rules will be published on the Department of Corrections’ website

www.corrections.govt.nz

The rules will be available for inspection at:

• the reception of the Department of Corrections’ National Office at 44–52 The Terrace, Wellington, and
• the visitors’ reception area of every prison site.

Copies of the rules may be obtained, free of charge, from the website, National Office reception and the visitor’s reception area of every prison site.

The Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students (Revised 2010) Amendment No. 2

Pursuant to section 238F of the Education Act 1989 and clauses 30.3 and 31.5 of the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students (Revised 2010)* (“the Code”), I make the following notifications:

1. Transfer of Administrator – The administration of the Code is transferred from the current Administrator, the Ministry of Education, to the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.

2. Amendment to the Code – The definition of Administrator on page 2 of the Code is amended by deleting

   “The Ministry of Education”

   and inserting

   “The New Zealand Qualifications Authority”.

This transfer and amendment takes effect on 1 August 2013.

Boards of Trustees Election Extension Notice for

Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ngāti Kahungunu ki Heretaunga, Hastings (2445); Te Wharekura o Maniapoto, Te Kuiti (1865); St Thomas More Catholic School, Mount Maunganui (1636); Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Tōku Mapihi Maurea, Hamilton (1589) and Waitetuna School, Raglan (2071)

Pursuant to clause 9(2) of the Sixth Schedule to the Education Act 1989 and acting with authority delegated by the Minister of Education, I hereby extend the period for closing the poll and all subsequent actions in accordance with the Education (School Trustee Elections) Regulations 2000 for the election of a staff representative for the boards of trustees of Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ngāti Kahungunu ki Heretaunga, Hastings; Te Wharekura o Maniapoto, Te Kuiti; St Thomas More Catholic School, Mount Maunganui; Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Tōku Mapihi Maurea, Hamilton and for both staff and parent representatives for the board of trustees of Waitetuna School, Raglan.

Voting for the elections shall now close on 11 July 2013.

This notice takes effect the day of publication.

Board of Trustees Election Invalidation Notice for Te Kura o Otangarei, Whangarei (1069)

Pursuant to clause 9(1)(a) of the Sixth Schedule to the Education Act 1989, and acting with authority delegated by the Minister of Education, I declare invalid the election for parent representatives for the board of trustees of Te Kura o Otangarei, Whangarei, require new elections to be held on 18 July 2013, and declare that the elected representatives who held office on the date of the invalid election remain in office until the close of the day before the day on which the new trustees take office following the new election.

This notice takes effect the day of publication.
