Reserves Act 1977

Change of Purpose and Classification of Parts of a Reserve

Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Acting Community Support Manager for the Canterbury Conservancy of the Department of Conservation changes the purpose of that part of the reserve described in the First Schedule from a recreation reserve to a local purpose (drainage) reserve and further, classifies those parts of the reserve described in the First and Second Schedules as local purpose (drainage) reserve and further, classifies those parts of the reserve in the Third Schedule as recreation reserve, subject to the provisions of the Act.

Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993

Setting Apart Māori Freehold Land as a Māori Reservation

Pursuant to section 338(1) of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the Māori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto, as delineated on the hand-written plan submitted with the application held by the Māori Land Court, is hereby set apart as a Māori reservation for the purpose of Whare Wānanga for kaupapa waka, to be known as Te Awapoko Waka Wānanga Reserve for the benefit of the trustees for the time being of the Hekenukumai Ngā Iwi Trust.

Declaring Land to be Included in a Māori Reservation

Pursuant to section 338(2) of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the Māori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be included in the existing Māori reservation in respect of the lands known as Kaipo A4, Kaipo A6, Kaipo A7, Kaipo No 8, Kaipo A9 and Kaipo A10, being all of the lands contained in Computer Freehold Registers 282884, 387705, 387703, WN8A/870, WN8A/871 and WN8A/872 which were set apart for the common use and benefit of the Ngatihou hapū by notices published in the New Zealand Gazette, 27 October 1966, No. 65, page 1675; New Zealand Gazette, 22 January 1987, No. 7, page 204; New Zealand Gazette, 25 February 1988, No. 32, page 650 and New Zealand Gazette, 19 April 2012, No. 44, page 1328.

Pursuant to section 338(5) of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the beneficiaries of the Māori reservation set apart by notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 20 October 1994, No. 108, page 3153, over Māori Reserve 886 Onuku 2A Block be redefined from “Ngā Tangata o Ōnuku Marae me Ngā Tangata o Ngāi Tahu Whānui me Ngā Hau E Whā” to “the members of Ōnuku Rūnanga Incorporated Society”.
