Notice of the Electricity Industry Participation (Dispatchable Demand) Code Amendment 2011, Amendment 2013

Pursuant to section 38(3)(b) of the Electricity Industry Act 2010, the Electricity Authority gives notice of the making of the Electricity Industry Participation (Dispatchable Demand) Code Amendment 2011, Amendment 2013 ("Amendment").

The Amendment comes into force on 13 June 2013.

The Amendment amends the commencement date of the Electricity Industry Participation (Dispatchable Demand) Code Amendment 2011 ("Principal Amendment") from 27 June 2013 to 1 May 2014.

A copy of the Amendment, the Principal Amendment, and the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 ("Code") is available on the Electricity Authority’s website

A copy of the Amendment, the Principal Amendment, and the Code may also be inspected free of charge or purchased from the Electricity Authority, Level 7, ASB Bank Tower, 2 Hunter Street, Wellington.

Notice of the Electricity Industry Participation (Information Flows) Code Amendment 2013

Pursuant to section 38(3)(b) of the Electricity Industry Act 2010, the Electricity Authority ("Authority") gives notice of the making of the Electricity Industry Participation (Information Flows) Code Amendment 2013.

The amendment comes into force on 13 June 2013.

The amendment:
(a) clarifies the process to be followed by the clearing manager when issuing invoices after reconciliation information is revised; and
(b) provides for the grid owner to notify the reconciliation manager of each point of connection to the grid that was supplied from an alternative point of connection, and the corresponding trading periods; and
(c) amends the deadline for the reconciliation manager to notify affected reconciliation participants of the trading periods during which outage constraints applied. -

Notice of Exemption From Maritime Rules: 35.6(7)(a)(iii); 40A.33(2)(e); 40A.55(1), Appendix 3.3; 40D.13(2), Table 2; 40D.17(5), Table 5; 40D.37(1), Appendix 1; 40E, Appendix 3; 45.10(1)(a); 46.17(1)(a)
Pursuant to section 47(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting of the following exemptions:

1 from Maritime Rule 35.6(7)(a)(iii) – Training and Examinations – Examination and Assessment Procedures – Examinations – Passes in oral and written exams shall be valid for engineering certificates of competency for 24 months

2 from Maritime Rule 40A.33(2)(e) – Design, Construction and Equipment – Passenger Ships which are not SOLAS Ships – Machinery – Petrol inboard and outboard engines – Ship fitted with one outboard engine as main source of propulsion, if proceeding beyond enclosed waters, must have auxiliary engine of sufficient power to enable ship to return safely to port or a safe haven

1 from Maritime Rule 40A.55(1), Appendix 3.3 – Design, Construction and Equipment – Passenger Ships which are not SOLAS Ships – Fire Fighting Appliances – Owner and master of a ship must ensure fire appliances are provided in accordance with requirements of Appendix 3 – Restricted limit ships

1 from Maritime Rule 40D.13(2), Table 2 – Design, Construction and Equipment – Fishing Ships – Design survey, construction and structural strength – Weathertight doors – Height above deck of sills in doorways, companionways, superstructure and machinery casings exposed to weather and sea must be as given in Table 2
