Explanatory Note

This note is not part of the instrument but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This instrument amends the Special Needs Grants Programme to allow rural assistance payments to be made for a period commencing on the date of the approval or a specified date not earlier than the date of the Minister for Primary Industries declaration of adverse climatic event, natural disaster, or biosecurity incursion in respect of the area concerned.

1. Pursuant to section 38(3)(b) of the Electricity Industry Act 2010, the Electricity Authority gives notice of the making of the Electricity Industry Participation (Metering Arrangements) Code Amendment 2011, Amendment 2013 (“Amendment”).

2. The Amendment comes into force on 30 May 2013.

3. The Amendment amends the commencement date of the Electricity Industry Participation (Metering Arrangements) Code Amendment 2011 (“Principal Amendment”) from 6 June 2013 to 29 August 2013.

4. A copy of the Amendment, the Principal Amendment, and the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 (“Code”) is available on the Electricity Authority’s website at
