Notice of Intention to Apply for Approval of Codes of Practice

Pursuant to section 79 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 (“HSNO Act”), the Environmental Protection Authority gives notice it intends to apply for approval of the amended codes of practice:

HSNOCOP 6 Flammable Liquids Tank Wagons
HSNOCOP 29 Flammable Gases and Oxygen Tank Wagons
HSNOCOP 39 Toxic, Corrosive and Ecotoxic Liquids Tank Wagons

The purpose of these codes of practice is to provide a means of compliance with the requirements of the Hazardous Substances (Tank Wagons and Transportable Containers) Regulations 2004.

The proposed amendments to the codes of practice reflect the amendments made to these Regulations in November 2012.

Public Works Act 1981

Notice of Intention to Take Land and Interest for Road—Tamahere Section of the Waikato Expressway, Waikato District

Notice is hereby given that the Minister for Land Information proposes to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1981, the land described in the Schedule hereto (“the land”).

The land is required for road for the State Highway 1 Waikato Expressway (Tamahere Section) (Roads of National Significance).

The land and interest described in the Schedule will be taken for road.

The land is required to complete one of 10 sections of the Waikato Expressway, which will provide a continuous four-laned carriageway between the Bombay Hills and south of Cambridge.

The owner(s) of the land, and those persons with a registered interest in it, have been served with notice of the Minister for Land Information’s intention to take the land and advised of their right to object.

Any other person having the right to object may send a written objection to the Registrar, Environment Court, Tribunals Division, Department for Courts, Level 2, 41 Federal Street, Auckland Central, Auckland 1010, or by post to PO Box 7147, Wellesley Street, Auckland 1141, or DX CX10086, Auckland, within 20 working days after the date of publication of this notice.

If any objection is made in accordance with this notice, a public hearing will be held with the right of the objector to appear and be heard personally unless the objector otherwise requires, and each objector will be informed of the time and place of the hearing.
