Fisheries Act 1996
Fisheries (Southern Bluefin Tuna Total Allowable Catch) Notice 2013 (Notice No. MPI 297)
Pursuant to section 14 of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister for Primary Industries, after having regard to the matters specified in that section, gives the following notice.
Notice

Title—This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Southern Bluefin Tuna Total Allowable Catch) Notice 2013.

Commencement—This notice shall come into effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery defined—The Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery quota management area is the area defined in the Schedule to the Fisheries (Declaration of New Stocks Subject to Quota Management System) Notice (No 3) 2003 (SR 2003/303).

Total allowable catch for the Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery increased for 2013–2014 fishing year—The total allowable catch for the Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery for the 2013–2014 fishing year is increased from 830 to 910 tonnes greenweight in accordance with section 14(6) of the Fisheries Act 1996.

Total allowable catch for the Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery reverts—At the close of the 2013–2014 fishing year (30 September 2014), the total allowable catch for the Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery reverts back to the total allowable catch that applied at the beginning of that fishing year in accordance with section 14(7) of the Fisheries Act 1996.

Pursuant to section 60 of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister for Primary Industries, after complying with the requirements of that section, gives the following notice.

Title—This notice is the Fisheries (Southern Bluefin Tuna Quota Aggregation Limit Exemption) Notice 2013.

Commencement—This notice comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Exemption to quota aggregation limit for southern bluefin tuna—From the date that this notice comes into effect, consent is given for Talley’s Group Limited to hold quota shares for southern bluefin tuna having a quota weight equivalent less than or equal to 36.2% of the total allowable commercial catch of southern bluefin tuna.

Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Notice (No. 10) 2013 (Notice No. MPI 305)
Pursuant to Regulation 9 of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998, the Director Māori Partnership Implementation at the Ministry for Primary Industries (acting pursuant to a delegated authority in accordance with section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988) gives the following notice.

Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Notice (No. 10) 2013.
(2) This notice shall come into effect on 20 December 2013.

Interpretation—(1) In this notice:
“area/rohe moana” means the area described in clause 4(1).
(2) Other terms used in this notice have the same meaning as in the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998.

Nomination of Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki—Oraeroa Marae, as part of Ngā Kaitiaki o Te Puaha, has nominated Kenneth Kiripaura Clark, Hurricane Jim Thompson, Richard Tiki o Terangi Thompson and Jack Rangi as Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for managing customary food-gathering within the area/rohe moana described in clause 4(1).

Appointment of Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki—(1) On 12 December 2013, the Minister for Primary Industries confirmed, under Regulation 9(1) of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998, the appointment of Kenneth Kiripaura Clark, Hurricane Jim Thompson, Richard Tiki o Terangi Thompson and Jack Rangi as Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for managing customary food-gathering within the area/rohe moana enclosed by a line:
