Authorisation of Exchange of Part of a Reserve for Other Land

Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Conservation Partnerships Manager for the Waikato District Office of the Department of Conservation authorises the exchange of that part of the Maungakawa Scenic Reserve described in the First Schedule for the land described in the Second Schedule, and further specifies that the land in the Second Schedule shall be held as scenic reserve for the purposes specified in section 19(1)(a) of the Reserves Act 1977.

Notice Redefining the Purposes of a Māori Reservation

Pursuant to section 338(5)(c) of the Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the purposes for which the Māori reservation in respect of the land described in the Schedule hereto was created by notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 23 October 1975, No. 90, page 2344, and redefined by notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 18 May 1978, No. 42, page 1465, are hereby redefined for the purpose of a marae site, recreation or sports ground, and Kaumātua housing for the common use and benefit of the persons or class of persons for whose use or benefit the said Māori reservation was made to be the Māori people of New Zealand.

Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993

Setting Apart Māori Freehold Land as a Māori Reservation

Pursuant to section 338(1)(a) of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the Māori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart as a Māori reservation for the purpose of a marae and recreation ground for the common use and benefit of the members of the Ngaitukairangi hapū of the Ngaiterangi tribe and other Māori resident in the locality and to be known as Whareroa Marae.

Setting Apart Māori Freehold Land as a Māori Reservation
