Acting District Court Judge Appointed

Pursuant to sections 5B and 10 of the District Courts Act 1947 and section 354(3) of the Criminal Procedure Act 2011, His Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand,
has been pleased to appoint

John Bergseng, barrister and solicitor of Havelock North
to be an Acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil
and criminal jurisdiction within New Zealand, and to
conduct jury trials for a period of two years commencing
on 13 November 2013.

Notice Under the Food Act 1981 (Notice No. MPI 273)

Pursuant to section 11G of the Food Act 1981, notice is
given of the issue on 3 November 2013 of the New Zealand
Food (Supplemented Food) Standard 2013, which comes
into force on 5 December 2013.

A copy of the food standard may be inspected free of charge
at or obtained from the office of the Ministry for Primary
Industries, Pastoral House, 25 The Terrace (PO Box 2526),

Civil Defence Emergency Management

Act 2002

Declaration of State of Local Emergency

Pursuant to section 68 of the Civil Defence Emergency
Management Act 2002, I, Annette Kay Main, declare that a
state of local emergency exists in Whanganui District owing
to evacuation needed from flood threatened properties and
roads.

This state of local emergency comes into force immediately
on the making of this declaration, and expires seven days
after the time and date on which it comes into force (unless
extended or terminated at an earlier time).

Declaration Terminating State of Local Emergency

Pursuant to section 72 of the Civil Defence Emergency
Management Act 2002, I, Annette Kay Main, terminate
the state of local emergency declared at Whanganui for
Whanganui District owing to risk of flooding to properties
and roads.

The termination of the state of local emergency takes effect
immediately on the making of this declaration.
