Setting Apart Land as a Māori Reservation
Pursuant to sections 338(1)(a) and 340 of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be set apart as a Māori reservation for the purpose of a marae for the common use and benefit of the people of New Zealand and in particular the people of Wainuiomata.

Reserves Act 1977
Authorisation of Exchange of Part of Reserve for Other Land
Under section 15 of the Reserves Act 1977, the Hastings District Council, acting under a delegation dated 12 June 2013 from the Minister of Conservation, authorises the exchange of the area of local purpose (drainage) reserve described in the First Schedule for the land described in the Second Schedule, which is to be held as local purpose (drainage) reserve. The land in the First Schedule shall become fee simple land.

Excluding Māori Freehold Land From a Māori Reservation
Whereas by the notices in the New Zealand Gazette described below, the lands in the First Schedule were set apart as a Māori reservation for the purpose of a meeting place and marae for the common use of the Ngātimaru tribe.
Whereas it is now desired to exclude part of the land from the Māori reservation being the area described in the Second Schedule; now therefore, pursuant to section 338(5)(a) of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the land described in the Second Schedule is hereby declared to be excluded from the Pukehou Marae Reservation (known as Pukehou Section 4 Block III Huiroa Survey District Reservation).
