Local Government Act 2002

Consultation on Rules Setting Local Government Performance Measures

On 29 November 2012, by notice in the New Zealand Gazette, in accordance with section 261B(3) of the Local Government Act 2002, the Secretary for Local Government published his intention to make a rule specifying performance measures for the groups of activities of:

• water supply
• sewerage and the treatment and disposal of sewage
• stormwater drainage
• flood protection and control works; and
• the provision of roads and footpaths.

The secretary proposes that the Bacterial Compliance Criteria and Protozoal Compliance Criteria of the Drinking Water Standards for New Zealand 2005 (Revised 2008) be incorporated by reference in the rule.

The material is available for inspection during working hours at the Department of Internal Affairs, 46 Waring Taylor Street, Wellington, until 5.00pm on 28 February 2013.

Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005

Notice of Payment into Victims’ Claims Trust Account

Take notice that, pursuant to Part 2 of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005, compensation awarded to John Williams is required to be paid to the Secretary for Justice and the surplus after deductions is to be held in trust on behalf of John Williams.

And that on 12 December 2012, $14,371.21 was paid into the victims’ claims trust account on behalf of John Williams.

This money must be held in the trust account to enable any victims of John Williams to make claims against it.

Any person that has been a victim of John Williams, in respect of an offence for which John Williams was convicted in a Court of New Zealand, is entitled to make a claim against the money held in the trust account on behalf of John Williams.

Claims by victims are not limited to the amount available in the trust account.
