Electricity Authority

Electricity Industry Act 2010

Notice of the Electricity Industry Participation (Automatic Under-Frequency Load Shedding) Code Amendment 2013

  1. Pursuant to section 38(3)(b) of the Electricity Industry Act 2010, the Electricity Authority gives notice of the making of the Electricity Industry Participation (Automatic Under-Frequency Load Shedding) Code Amendment 2013.

  2. Clause 5 of the amendment comes into force on 3 April 2014. The rest of the amendment comes into force on 2 October 2013.

  3. The amendment allows the system operator to modify the automatic under-frequency load shedding system requirements for selected participants, in order to reduce the risk of an over-frequency event during the commissioning of Pole 2.

  4. The amendment also provides that the system operator’s power to modify the automatic under-frequency load shedding system requirements will end from 3 April 2014, because it is anticipated that Pole 2 commissioning will be completed by that date.

  5. Copies of the amendment and the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 (“Code”) are available on the Electricity Authority’s website

Land Transport Act 1998

Notification of Ordinary Rule

Pursuant to section 161(3) of the Land Transport Act 1998, notification is hereby given of the making of Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Standards Compliance Amendment (No 2) 2013.

The amendment Rule makes changes to the frequency of in-service vehicle inspections (warrant of fitness and certificate of fitness).

It comes into force on 1 January 2014.

The amendment Rule is available for inspection, free of charge, at the National Office of the NZ Transport Agency, 50 Victoria Street, Wellington, and at the NZ Transport Agency’s regional offices.
