Electoral Main Rolls Closing Notice 2012

Pursuant to section 104(2)(b) of the Electoral Act 1993, the Electoral Commission gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title—This notice is the Electoral Main Rolls Closing Notice 2012.

  2. Date for closing of main rolls—The date for the closing of the main rolls for every general electorate and for every Māori electorate is 26 October 2012.

Explanatory Note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

The main rolls are printed for each electoral district to enable members of the public to check them. The rolls list electors who are enrolled on a date specified for the closing of the rolls. This notice specifies 26 October 2012 as that date. The rolls will be printed as soon as practicable after that date.

Electricity Industry Act 2010

Notice of the Electricity Industry Participation (Minor Amendments) Code Amendment 2012

  1. Pursuant to section 38(3)(b) of the Electricity Industry Act 2010 (“Act”), the Electricity Authority (“Authority”) gives notice of the making of the Electricity Industry Participation (Minor Amendments) Code Amendment 2012.

  2. The amendment comes into force on 21 September 2012.

  3. The amendment makes various minor amendments to the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 (“Code”) including:

    (a) replacing the term “extended emergency situation” with “EMP departure situation” to more accurately reflect the meaning of the term;

    (b) more clearly describing the purpose of the system security forecast prepared by the system operator;

    (c) clarifying timeframes and dates;

    (d) amending the requirements for approval as a class A approved test house; and

    (e) correcting various typographical errors and inaccurate cross-references.

  4. In accordance with section 39(3)(a) of the Act, the Authority is satisfied that the amendment is technical and non-controversial, and therefore the Authority has not prepared and publicised a regulatory statement or consulted on the amendment and the regulatory statement.

  5. A copy of the amendment and the Code is available on the Authority’s website www.ea.govt.nz/act-code-regs/code-regs/

  6. A copy of the amendment and the Code may also be inspected free of charge or purchased from the Electricity Authority, Level 7, ASB Bank Tower, 2 Hunter Street, Wellington.

Electricity Industry (Exemption No. 142 (Contact Energy Limited)) Exemption Notice 2012

Pursuant to section 11 of the Electricity Industry Act 2010 (“Act”), the Electricity Authority gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice is the Electricity Industry (Exemption No. 142 (Contact Energy Limited)) Exemption Notice 2012.

    (2) This notice comes into force on 16 September 2012.

  2. Exemption—(1) Contact Energy Limited (“Contact”) is exempted from compliance with clause 10.3(b) of the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 (“Code”).

    (2) This exemption only applies to installation control point 0015726240EL9CB.

  3. Term—This exemption expires on the date on which the Electricity Industry Participation (Metering Arrangements) Code Amendment 2011 comes into force.

  4. Reasons for granting the exemption—The reasons for granting this exemption are:

    (a) granting the exemption meets the requirements in section 11 of the Act for granting exemptions;

    (b) Contact will incur significant expenditure and complexity in fitting a meter to the street lights for low consumption volumes; and

    (c) the exemption will have little or no impact on other participants and service providers, and will not affect any other Code provisions.

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice is the Electricity Industry (Exemption No. 143 (TrustPower Limited)) Exemption Notice 2012.

    (2) This notice comes into force on 16 September 2012.

  2. Exemption—(1) TrustPower Limited (“TrustPower”) is exempted from compliance with clause 10.3(b) of the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 (“Code”).
