Building Act 2004

Direction That the Chief Executive Make a Determination Under the Building Act 2004 on Own Initiative

Pursuant to sections 181(1) and 181(3)(b) of the Building Act 2004, I hereby give notice that I have made the following direction:

(a) That it is considered necessary for the purposes of the Building Act 2004 to determine whether the provisions of Subpart 6 of Part 2 of the Building Act 2004 concerning earthquake-prone buildings apply to buildings where only a part of the building is considered earthquake-prone;

(b) that the determination will be on the initiative of the chief executive without an application for determination being made under section 177 of the Building Act 2004; and

(c) that the determination will be in respect of the matter of the exercise of power by the Gisborne District Council on 16 February 2010 to issue a notice under section 124 of the Building Act 2004 that the parapets on the building at 306 Gladstone Road, Gisborne (Lot 2 DP 3646), were believed to be earthquake-prone (as defined in section 122 of the Building Act 2004) and requiring the parapets to be strengthened or a report provided to the Gisborne District Council by a Chartered Professional Engineer that the parapets are not earthquake-prone.

Crown Entities Act 2004

Appointment to the Broadcasting Standards Authority

Pursuant to section 28 of the Crown Entities Act 2004 and section 26 of the Broadcasting Act 1989, His Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand hereby appoints

Mary Anne Shanahan

as a member of the Broadcasting Standards Authority for a term commencing on 1 May 2012 and expiring on 30 April 2015.

Hunua School (1321) Board of Trustees Election Notice

Acting with authority delegated by the Minister of Education, under clause 9(2) of the Sixth Schedule to the Education Act 1989, I approve Monday 25 June 2012 as the closing date for voting in the mid-term election of two parent representatives for the Hunua School Board of Trustees.

This notice shall take effect the day after publication.

Pursuant to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that supplementary integration agreements have been signed between the Minister of Education on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, acting through the Group Manager, Education, Curriculum and Performance, Ministry of Education, pursuant to delegated authority, and the proprietors of the following schools:

St Joseph’s Catholic School, Takapuna (1498).

The said supplementary integration agreements were executed on 8 May 2012.
