Notice of Direction to Appoint a Limited Statutory Manager for the Board of Trustees of Chelsea School (1244)

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for the Chelsea School Board of Trustees.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in a limited statutory manager:

• All functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer (whether statutory or otherwise);

• All functions, powers and duties of the board in curriculum management including teaching and assessment practice (whether statutory or otherwise);

• All functions, powers and duties of the board to manage communication relating to the intervention and areas of employment and self-review (whether statutory or otherwise)

• All functions, powers and duties of the board to establish systems/processes (whether statutory or otherwise) including for school-wide self-review and complaint management).

This notice takes effect the day of publication.

Notice of Board Constitution for Continuing School and Interim Period for the Merger of Strathmore Community School (3027) and Miramar South School (2917)

Pursuant to a notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 19 January 2012, No. 3, page 78, Strathmore Community School (3027) and Miramar South School (2917) will merge on 27 January 2013, with Strathmore Community School being the continuing school.

Pursuant to section 156A of the Education Act 1989, I give notice that I will appoint a board to be the continuing board for the interim period as follows:

Constitution of the Board

1. The Board of Trustees of Strathmore Community School (3027), Wellington, as the continuing school, will be constituted as follows for the duration of the interim period:

• Up to seven trustees appointed by the Minister of Education (one of whom may be designated by the Minister as chairperson); and

• The person appointed by the board as the new principal of the school.

Interim Period

2. The interim period will commence on 4 May 2012 and end at the close of the day before the date on which new trustees take office following an election.

This notice shall come into force on the day after its publication.

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for the Pukekohe North School Board of Trustees.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are to be vested in a limited statutory manager:

• All functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer (whether statutory or otherwise); and

• All functions, powers and duties of the board to establish procedures and processes (whether statutory or otherwise) for school-wide self-review; and

A limited statutory manager must also advise the board on:

• The exercise of its governance powers; and

• Financial, property, asset and resource management.

This notice takes effect on the day of publication.

Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975

Supplementary Integration Agreements

Pursuant to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that supplementary integration agreements have been signed between the Minister of Education on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, acting through the Group Manager, Education, Curriculum and Performance, Ministry of Education, pursuant to delegated authority, and the proprietors of the following schools:

• St Columba’s School, Frankton (1944).
• St Mary’s Catholic School, Tauranga (1959).
• Catholic Cathedral College, Christchurch (531).
• St Joseph’s School, Ashburton (3527).

The said supplementary integration agreements were executed on 27 April 2012.
