Research, Science, and Technology Act 2010

Amendment to the Notice to the Innovation Board Setting Criteria for Assessing Proposals for Specified Research, Science, and Technology Funding

Pursuant to sections 8(1) and 10(3) of the Research, Science, and Technology Act 2010, I amend the notice to the Innovation Board entitled "Innovation Board – Criteria for assessing proposals for specified Research, Science and Technology funding" published on page 180 of the Establishment of Innovation Board and Science Board and Other Related Notices Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette, 31 January 2011, No. 9, page 177, by deleting the section titled

"SPECIFIED FUNDING DECIDED BY THE INNOVATION BOARD"

and substituting the following:

"SPECIFIED RS&T FUNDING DECIDED BY THE INNOVATION BOARD"

The Innovation Board must use one of the Business-led R&D investment tools or the Commercialisation and Technology Transfer Support (Objective 2) investment tool when making a decision in respect of a proposal for specified RS&T funding.

Funding allocated by the Innovation Board may be allocated from any of the following output expenses:

  • For funding allocated using a Business-led R&D investment tool:

    • Biological Industries Research;
    • High Value Manufacturing and Services Research;

  • For funding allocated using the Commercialisation and Technology Transfer Support (Objective Two) investment tool:

    • Biological Industries Research;
    • High Value Manufacturing and Services Research;
    • Environmental Research;
    • Energy and Minerals Research;
    • Hazards and Infrastructure Research."
