Notice of Revocation of Compliance Document C; Issue of Compliance Documents C/AS1 and C/VM1, C/AS2–C/AS7 and C/VM2; Amendment to Compliance Documents F7 and F8; and Where Materials Incorporated by Reference Into the Compliance Documents Are Available for Inspection and Purchase

Revocation of Compliance Document C (Fire Safety)

Pursuant to section 24(1) of the Building Act 2004 (“the Act”), I give notice that Compliance Document C for the New Zealand Building Code clauses C1–C4 Fire Safety (Amendment 9), incorporating C/AS1 and C/VM1, will be revoked on 10 April 2013.

The document may be used until that date to demonstrate compliance with clauses C1–C4 of the Building Code as they were prior to their amendment by the Building (Building Code: Fire Safety and Signs) Amendment Regulations 2012.

Issue of Compliance Documents C/AS1 and C/VM1, and C/AS2–C/AS7 and C/VM2 (Protection from Fire)

Pursuant to section 22(1) of the Act, I give notice of the issue of new Compliance Documents C/AS1 and C/VM1, C/AS2–C/AS7 and C/VM2 for the New Zealand Building Code (Protection from Fire).

These documents come into force on 10 April 2012 and may be used from that date to demonstrate compliance with clauses C1–C6 of the Building Code as amended by the Building (Building Code: Fire Safety and Signs) Amendment Regulations 2012.

Amendment to Compliance Document F7 (Warning Systems)

Pursuant to section 24(1) of the Act, I give notice of an amendment (ie Fourth Edition) to the Compliance Document F7 for the New Zealand Building Code (Warning Systems).

The amended version of the document comes into force on 10 April 2012 and may be used from that date to demonstrate compliance with clause F7 of the Building Code.

The previous version of the document (prior to its amendment), ie Amendment 7, may be used until the close of 9 April 2013 to demonstrate compliance with clause F7 of the Building Code.

Amendment to Compliance Document F8 (Signs)

Pursuant to section 24(1) of the Act, I give notice of an amendment (ie Second Edition) to the Compliance Document F8 for the New Zealand Building Code (Signs).

The amended version of the document comes into force on 10 April 2012 and may be used from that date to demonstrate compliance with clause F8 of the Building Code as amended by the Building (Building Code: Fire Safety and Signs) Amendment Regulations 2012.

The previous version of the document (prior to its amendment), ie Amendment 1, may be used until the close of 9 July 2012 to demonstrate compliance with clause F8 of the Building Code as it was prior to its amendment by the Building (Building Code: Fire Safety and Signs) Amendment Regulations 2012.

The new documents are available for download free of charge on the Department of Building and Housing (DBH) website www.dbh.govt.nz/compliance-documents
