Ngāti Manuhiri Claims Settlement Act 2012
Notice of New and Altered Geographic Names, and Altered Crown Protected Area Names for Ngāti Manuhiri Treaty of Waitangi Settlement 2012
Pursuant to sections 78 to 82 of the Ngāti Manuhiri Claims Settlement Act 2012 ("the Settlement Act 2012"), the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa ("the Board") hereby gives notice of new and altered geographic names, and altered Crown Protected Area (CPA) names.
Schedule 1 below specifies the details of the new geographic name; its geographic feature type and its description.
Schedule 2 below specifies the details of the altered geographic names; their geographic feature types; their descriptions; and their former names.
Schedule 3 below specifies the details of the altered CPA names; their generic terms; their descriptions; and their former CPA names.
The official geographic names and CPA names took effect on 18 December 2012 (being 20 working days after the date that the Ngāti Manuhiri Claims Settlement Act 2012 came into force).
Pursuant to section 81 of the Settlement Act 2012, the Board may in the future agree to alter any official geographic name, as listed in Schedules 1 and 2 below, with the consent of the trustees of the Ngāti Manuhiri Settlement Trust.
