2. Constitution of Fire Area

(1) The fire regions listed in column 1 of the Schedule are divided into the constituted fire areas listed in column 3 of the Schedule.

(2) The boundaries of the constituted fire areas listed in the Schedule are defined and delineated on a map held at New Zealand Fire Service, National Headquarters, 80 The Terrace, Wellington.

New Zealand Fire Service Fire Regions Notice 2012

Pursuant to section 24 of the Fire Service Act 1975, the New Zealand Fire Service Commission gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the New Zealand Fire Service Fire Regions Notice 2012.

(2) This notice comes into force on 22 November 2012.

  1. Revocation of New Zealand Fire Service Fire Regions Notice—The New Zealand Fire Service Fire Regions Notice 1997* is hereby revoked.

  2. Constitution of Fire Regions—(1) In this notice, “fire region” and “territorial authority” mean a fire region and a territorial authority as described in section 2 of the Fire Service Act 1975.

(2) The fire regions listed in Schedule 1 are hereby constituted and declared as New Zealand Fire Service Fire Regions.

(3) The territorial authorities within each fire region are listed in Schedule 2.

(4) The boundaries of the constituted fire regions are defined and delineated on plans held at the National Headquarters, New Zealand Fire Service, Wellington.

Territorial Authorities Within Fire Regions

Region 1:

Auckland, Far North District, Hauraki District (part of), Kaipara District, Waikato District (part of), Whangarei District.

Region 2:

Gisborne District, Hamilton City, Hauraki District (part of), Kawerau District, Matamata-Piako District, Opotiki District, Otorohanga District, Rotorua District, South Waikato District, Taupo District, Tauranga City, Thames-Coromandel District, Waikato District (part of), Waipa District, Waitomo District, Western Bay of Plenty District, Whakatane District.

Region 3:

Mid Canterbury Fire Service Area Abolition Notice 2012

Pursuant to section 25 of the Fire Service Act 1975, the New Zealand Fire Service Commission gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Mid Canterbury Fire Service Area Abolition Notice 2012.

(2) This notice comes into force on 22 November 2012.

  1. Abolition of Mid Canterbury Fire Service Area—The Mid Canterbury Fire Service Area* is hereby abolished.
