Tariff Concessions: New Arrangements

From 1 December 2012, the responsibility for administering New Zealand’s tariff concessions will be transferred from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) to the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs).

  • Until 30 November, enquiries, objections and applications for tariff concessions should continue to be lodged with MBIE.
  • On 1 December, outstanding applications and objections will be transferred to Customs and relevant applicants will be advised.
  • From 1 December, enquiries, objections and applications for tariff concessions should be lodged with Customs.

Relevant information, including the application forms, will be available on the Customs website www.customs.govt.nz from 30 November 2012.
