Amendment of Notice of Direction to Appoint a Limited Statutory Manager for the Board of Trustees of Discovery One School (1635)

Under section 78M(6) of the Education Act 1989, the notice (as published in the New Zealand Gazette, 3 November 2011, No. 168, page 4683) directing the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for the board of trustees of Discovery One School is amended by this notice.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in a limited statutory manager:

• All functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer (whether statutory or otherwise);
• all functions, powers and duties of the board to manage financial operations (whether statutory or otherwise);
• all functions, powers and duties of the board to manage communications (whether statutory or otherwise) relating to the areas of employment, finance and board organisation and management;
• all functions, powers and duties of the board to manage curriculum, and teaching and assessment practices (whether statutory or otherwise); and
• all functions, powers and duties of the board in the management of health and safety of students and staff (whether statutory or otherwise).

A limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following:

• Board organisation and management; and
• consolidating all new and improved systems into board management practice.

This notice takes effect the day of publication.

Menzies College (401), Invercargill, Board of Trustees Student Election Extension Notice

Pursuant to clause 9(2) of the Sixth Schedule to the Education Act 1989, and acting with authority delegated by the Minister of Education, I hereby extend the calling for nominations, and all subsequent actions in accordance with the Education (School Trustee Elections) Regulations 2000 for the election of the student representatives for the Menzies College, Invercargill, Board of Trustees.

Voting for the election will close on 23 November 2012.

This notice takes effect on the day of notification.

Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Tuia te Matangi (628) Board of Trustees Election Notice

Acting with authority delegated by the Minister of Education under section 101(7) of the Education Act 1989, I approve Tuesday 27 November 2012, as the closing date for voting in the first elections of parent representatives and a staff representative for the Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Tuia te Matangi Board of Trustees.

I also approve Tuesday 4 December 2012 as the date for the first meeting of the board of trustees.

This notice shall take effect the day after publication.

Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975

Alive Trust (Attendance Dues) Notice 2012

Under section 36(2) of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, and acting with authority delegated by the Minister of Education, I approve that the attendance dues payable to Alive Trust in respect of any pupil at Excellere College (Whangarei) shall be a maximum of $780.00 (exclusive of GST) per annum.

The following functions, powers and duties are vested in the limited statutory manager:

• All functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer (whether statutory or otherwise).

A limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following:

• Finance.
