Human Assisted Reproductive Technology Act 2004

Guidelines Issued to the Ethics Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology

Pursuant to sections 35 and 36 of the Human Assisted Reproductive Technology Act 2004 (“the HART Act”), the Advisory Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology (ACART) has issued Guidelines on Extending the Storage Period of Gametes and Embryos to the Ethics Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology, to come into effect from 3 September 2012.

Pursuant to section 36(2) of the HART Act, the new guidelines are available online at:

Medicines Act 1981

Corrigendum—Renewal of Provisional Consent to the Distribution of Medicines

Pursuant to section 23(4A) of the Medicines Act 1981, the Minister of Health renewed the provisional consent to the sale, supply or use in New Zealand of the medicines listed in the Schedule to a notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 9 February 2012, No. 14, page 342.

This corrigendum amends the notice by replacing the entries for the products Clopine with the following entries:

Note: This consent is given subject to the following conditions:

   • Registered medical practitioners as defined in the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 who are certified by the Medical Council of New Zealand as competent in the scope of practice of psychiatry.
   • Medical practitioners employed as registrars in the branch of psychiatry who are under the supervision of the persons referred to above.
