Local Government Boundary Alteration Notice 2011

Pursuant to clause 5(1)(b) of Schedule 2 of the Local Government Act 2002, the Associate Minister of Local Government gives the following notice.

Notice

Title and commencement—(1) This notice is the Local Government Boundary Alteration Notice 2011.

(2) This notice comes into force on the day after it is published in the New Zealand Gazette.

Interpretation—In this notice:

District has the meaning given to it in section 5 of the Local Government Act 2002.

Seaward boundaries extended—The seaward boundaries of the districts listed in Schedule 1 are extended to mean low water springs.
Application to existing boundaries—(1) Nothing in this notice has the effect of excluding from a district any area included in that district before this notice is in force.

(2) Any harbour, bay, inlet, estuary or other body of water included in a district before this notice is in force remains part of that district.

(3) Without limiting the application of subclauses (1) and (2) of this clause, the areas listed in Schedule 2 remain in the districts listed in that Schedule.

Wards—The areas included in a district by this notice are included in any adjacent ward of that district.
Communities—The areas included in a district by this notice are included in any adjacent community of that district or subdivision of that community.
Boundaries of adjacent districts—(1) Unless the circumstances otherwise require, wherever the boundary of two districts meet at mean high water mark, the
