Under section 7(1A) of the Conservation Act 1987, the Acting Community Relations Manager, West Coast Conservancy, Department of Conservation, hereby declares that the land described in the Schedule below is held for conservation purposes and it shall thereafter be so held.

Notice is hereby given that the Crown, under the provisions of section 23 of the Public Works Act 1981, proposes to take the land described in the Schedule hereto (“the land”).
The land described in the Schedule to this notice is required for the State Highway 1 Christchurch Western Corridor Four Laning Project (Sawyers Arms Road–Wairakei Road Stage).
More particularly, the land is required for road and State highway.
The project is required to cater for increasing traffic volumes and to improve the safety and efficiency of State Highway 1 and the local road network.
