Declaration by Electoral Commission That Louisa Hareruia Wall is Elected a Member of Parliament

WHEREASβ€”

A. The Electoral Commission has received a warrant from His Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand to supply a member of Parliament to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Darren Colyn Hughes, pursuant to section 55(1)(f) of the Electoral Act 1993;

B. Under section 137(2) of the Electoral Act 1993, the Electoral Commission has determined that of the unelected candidates on theparty list of the New Zealand Labour Party, Judith Ngaire Tizard stood highest in the order of preference on that list;

C. Under section 137(3) of that Act, the Electoral Commission has asked the Secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party whether Judith Ngaire Tizard remains a member of that party and the Electoral Commission has been informed that she remains a member of that party;

D. Under section 137(4) of that Act, the Electoral Commission has asked Judith Ngaire Tizard whether she is willing to be a member of Parliament, and she has indicated that she is not willing to be a member of Parliament;

E. Under section 137(5) of that Act, the Electoral Commission has identified that of the unelected candidates on the party list of the New Zealand Labour Party, Richard Mark Burton stood the next highest in the order of preference on that list;

F. Under section 137(3) of that Act, the Electoral Commission has asked the Secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party whether Richard Mark Burton remains a member of that party and the Electoral Commission has been informed that he remains a member of that party;

G. Under section 137(4) of that Act, the Electoral Commission has asked Richard Mark Burton whether he is willing to be a member of Parliament, and he has indicated that he is not willing to be a member of Parliament;

H. Under section 137(5) of that Act, the Electoral Commission has identified that of the unelected candidates on the party list of the New Zealand Labour Party, Mahara Okeroa stood the next highest in the order of preference on that list;

I. Under section 137(3) of that Act, the Electoral Commission has asked the Secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party whether Mahara Okeroa remains a member of that party and the Electoral Commission has been informed that he is not a member of that party;

J. Under section 137(5) of that Act, the Electoral Commission has identified that of the unelected candidates on the party list of the New Zealand Labour Party, Martin Owen Gallagher stood the next highest in the order of preference on that list;

K. Under section 137(3) of that Act, the Electoral Commission has asked the Secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party whether Martin Owen Gallagher remains a member of that party and the Electoral Commission has been informed that he remains a member of that party;

L. Under section 137(4) of that Act, the Electoral Commission has asked Martin Owen Gallagher whether he is willing to be a member of Parliament, and he has
