Notice of Exemption From Maritime Rules: 21.13(1)(b); 31C.9(a); 35.6(8)(a); 40A.18(2); 40A.18(3)(a); 40A.19(1), Table 40A.2; 40A.33(1)(e); 40A.33(2)(e); 40A.56(1); 40C.7(1)(b); 46.17(1)(a)
Pursuant to section 47(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting of the following exemptions:
- 7 from Maritime Rule 21.13(1)(b) – Safe Ship Management Systems – Entry to and conditions to be met in order for ship to remain in Safe Ship Management System – New Zealand Safe Ship Management Certificate issued by Director
- 1 from Maritime Rule 31C.9(a) – Crewing and Watchkeeping Fishing Vessels – Operating Areas – Unlimited area – Fishing vessels operating in the unlimited area must carry seafarers holding minimum required qualifications
- 4 from Maritime Rule 35.6(8)(a) – Training and Examinations – Examinations and assessment procedures – Examinations – No candidate who fails an examination may re-sit until three weeks passed from date of failed examination
- 1 from Maritime Rule 40A.18(2) – Design, Construction and Equipment – Passenger Ships which are not SOLAS Ships – Passenger accommodation – Seating – 450mm of seating must be allowed for each person if continuous fixed seating is installed
