(e) Before being permitted to access the Motor Vehicle Register under section 241 of the Act, all staff must receive training that emphasises that such access must only be for the specified purpose, and refresher training of all staff also must be undertaken at appropriate intervals;

(f) Access must be restricted solely to members of staff for whom authorised access is essential to achieving the specified purpose;

(g) Name information shall be deleted upon receipt, and address information shall be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the specified purpose;

(h) The names and addresses obtained under this authorisation shall not be disclosed to any third party unless such disclosure is necessarily incidental to achieving the specified purpose; and

(i) The terms and conditions, if any, imposed by the NZ Transport Agency for access to Motor Vehicle Register information.

Notification of Amendment of the Commerce Act (Gas Transmission Services Input Methodologies) Determination 2010

Pursuant to section 52X of the Act to the Commerce Act (Gas Transmission Services Input Methodologies) Determination 2010, Decision 744 ("the Determination"), the Commerce Commission gives the following notice.

On 19 December 2011, the Commission made an amendment ("the Amendment") under section 52X of the Act to the Commerce Act (Gas Transmission Services Input Methodologies) Determination 2010, Decision 744 ("the Determination").

The Amendment corrects an error in the Commission’s determination of the applicable equity beta in clause 4.1.2(4) of the Determination, which should have been .79.

All other references to the appropriate equity beta are correct.

The Amendment is effective on the day following publication of notice of this determination in the New Zealand Gazette.

A copy of the corrected determination is available on the Commission’s website at

and is available for inspection or purchase at the Commission’s offices.

Telecommunications Act 2001

Notification of Clarification of the Standard Terms Determination on Chorus’s Unbundled Bitstream Access Service

On 12 December 2007, the Commerce Commission ("the Commission") issued a standard terms determination, under section 30M of the Telecommunications Act 2001 ("the Act"), in respect of Telecom’s unbundled bitstream access service ("Decision 611").

On 19 December 2011, the Commission clarified Decision 611 under section 58(1) of the Act to clarify that Chorus’ EUBA(0) falls within the definition of a basic UBA service regulated by Decision 611 and required to be provided in accordance with the terms of that determination.
