Disposal of Stewardship Area

Under the Conservation Act 1987, the Acting Community Relations Manager of the West Coast Conservancy of the Department of Conservation gives notice of the disposal in fee simple of the land described in the Schedule for a consideration of $32,000.00 plus GST.

Declaring Conservation Land to be a Scientific Reserve

Under section 8(1A) of the Conservation Act 1987, the Conservator of the Nelson/Marlborough Conservancy of the Department of Conservation declares that the conservation area described in the Schedule shall be set apart as a reserve, subject to the Reserves Act 1977, and classified as a scientific reserve subject to the provisions of the latter Act.

Declaration That Marginal Strip Not Required

Under the Conservation Act 1987, the Minister of Conservation declares that the marginal strip requirements as set out in section 24 of the Act shall not apply in the case of the disposition of the land in the Schedule.

Instead, an easement instrument between Lower Hutt City Council as transferee and the owner as transferor shall apply the easement being of five metres width on both banks with its true right bank rehabilitated into indigenous vegetation while the other bank consists of mown grass.
