Notice of Variation of an Open Aviation Market Licence
Pursuant to section 87X(4) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, sections 41(1) and 42 of the State Sector Act 1988, and to a delegation from the Secretary for Transport dated 6 November 2007, notice is given that, having received an application from Etihad Airways of Abu Dhabi, Martin Matthews, Secretary for Transport in the Ministry of Transport, has varied the airline’s open aviation market licence authorising it to carry on scheduled code-share services over the route Abu Dhabi, via points in Australia, to points in New Zealand, with the trans-Tasman sectors to be performed as the marketing carrier in a code-share arrangement with a carrier with the necessary traffic rights, with capacity as filed with and acknowledged by the Secretary for Transport.
This variation took effect on 24 December 2010.

Pursuant to section 47(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting of the following exemptions:

1 from Maritime Rule 21.13(1)(b) – Safe Ship Management Systems – Ships which do not proceed beyond restricted limits, fishing ships, and ships of less than 45 metres in length which are not required to comply with section 1 – Entry to and conditions to be met in order for ship to remain in Safe Ship Management System – New Zealand Safe Ship Management Certificate issued by Director

1 from Maritime Rule 21.13(1)(c)(ii) – Safe Ship Management Systems – Ships which do not proceed beyond restricted limits, fishing ships, and ships of less than 45 metres in length which are not required to comply with section 1 – Entry to and conditions to be met in order for ship to remain in Safe Ship Management System – compliance with conditions and limitations stated in ship’s New Zealand Safe Ship Management Certificate
