Hamilton Fire District Notice, August 2011

Under section 26 of the Fire Service Act 1975, the
New Zealand Fire Service Commission gives the following
notice.

Notice

  1. This notice is the Hamilton Fire District Notice,
    August 2011.

  2. This notice comes into force on the day of its publication
    in the New Zealand Gazette.

  3. This notice revokes and is in substitution for all previous
    fire district notices for the Hamilton Fire District.

Constitution of a Fire District

(a) The urban area of Hamilton is constituted as a Fire
District.

(b) The Fire District is assigned the name “Hamilton Fire
District”.

(c) The boundary of the fire district is defined and
delineated on plans held at the National Headquarters,
New Zealand Fire Service, Wellington.

Land Transport Act 1998

Notification of Ordinary Rules

Pursuant to section 161(3) of the Land Transport Act 1998, notification is hereby given of the making of 10 Rules that amend
Land Transport Rules.

The amendment Rules, which were consulted on in Land Transport Rule: Omnibus Amendment 2011, are:

  • Land Transport Rule: Dangerous Goods Amendment 2011 (Rule 45001/3)
  • Land Transport Rule: Frontal Impact Amendment 2011 (Rule 32006/5)
  • Land Transport Rule: Heavy Vehicles Amendment (No 2) 2011 (Rule 31002/5)
  • Land Transport Rule: Light-vehicle Brakes Amendment 2011 (Rule 32014/2)
  • Land Transport Rule: Operator Licensing Amendment (No 2) 2011 (Rule 81001/6)
  • Land Transport Rule: Steering Systems Amendment 2011 (Rule 32003/3)
  • Land Transport Rule: Traffic Control Devices Amendment 2011 (Rule 54002/5)
  • Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Exhaust Emissions Amendment 2011 (Rule 33001/5)
  • Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Standards Compliance Amendment (No 2) 2011 (Rule 35001/9)
  • Land Transport Rule: Work Time and Logbooks Amendment (No 2) 2011 (Rule 62001/4)

The amendment Rules make relatively minor changes to Rules, including clarifying or modifying current requirements to assist
understanding and enforcement, amending requirements to accord with current industry needs or practices, updating
requirements relating to vehicle standards to ensure that vehicles continue to be operated safely, removing unnecessary
restrictions and requirements (without diminishing safety standards), amending requirements to ensure they are in line with
international recommendations for the transport of dangerous goods on land and the New Zealand hazardous substances and
new organisms regulations, and making consequential changes as a result of changes to Rules and other legislation.

The above amendment Rules come into force on 1 October 2011.

They are available for inspection free of charge at the National Office of the NZ Transport Agency, Victoria Arcade, 50 Victoria
Street, Wellington, and at the NZ Transport Agency’s regional offices.
