Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005

Notice of End of Process for Making and Determining Victims’ Claims

Take notice that, pursuant to Part 2 (subpart 2) of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 ("the Act"), compensation awarded to Kingi Morgan Gemmell was paid to the Secretary for Justice on 11 November 2010, and the surplus was paid into the victims’ claims trust account on 22 November 2010 on behalf of Kingi Morgan Gemmell to enable any victims of that offender to make claims against it.

And that on 22 January 2011, notice was given by publication in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, and in the New Zealand Gazette, 20 January 2011, No. 5, page 89, of the sum of money paid into the trust account, and the entitlement of victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.

Under section 32(1)(b) of the Act, the Secretary for Justice has now paid out all of the money held in the trust account on behalf of Kingi Morgan Gemmell.

Maritime Transport Act 1994

Rugby World Cup 2011 (Empowering) Act 2010

Declaration of Major Maritime Event

Pursuant to section 200A(1) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994 and section 7(2) of the Rugby World Cup 2011 (Empowering) Act 2010, I declare the Rugby World Cup Auckland Waterfront Venue to be an event to which section 200B of the Maritime Transport Act 1994 applies for the period from 1 September 2011 to 31 October 2011 inclusive.

Designated Area

The area in respect of which this declaration applies comprises the following areas of Auckland Harbour:

General Designated Area—The Waitemata Harbour restricted zone as described in section 7.1.13 of the Auckland Regional Council Navigation Safety Bylaw.

The area is bounded in the west by the Auckland Harbour Bridge and bounded in the east by an approximate north/south boundary between North Head and Bastion Point.

The area is bounded on the north and south by the natural shoreline, and includes all navigable waters within this area.

The exact positions of the boundary points for the area requested are set out below.

Maps depicting the designated area, and certain areas to which special restrictions apply, will be published in the New Zealand Herald and on the Auckland Council and New Zealand Police websites just prior to the event commencing.
