Education Act 1989

Amendment to Notice of Alternative Constitution for the Board of Trustees of Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Wairarapa (1651)

Pursuant to section 105A of the Education Act 1989, I hereby amend the notice of Alternative Constitution for the Board of Trustees of Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Wairarapa (1651), Masterton, published in the New Zealand Gazette, 18 March 2010, No. 31, page 851, by replacing the full text of that notice with the following:

“I approve the following constitution for the Board of Trustees of Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Wairarapa:

  • Five parent representatives (one elected by parents of students in each of the five whānau voting pools, according to the board’s terms of reference, which will be available at the Kura office. The Returning Officer will follow the Election Regulations made under section 118 of the Education Act 1989, with any modifications necessary to cater for the five whānau voting pools);
  • the principal;
  • one staff representative;
  • up to one trustee appointed by the Minister of Education;
  • and up to three trustees either co-opted by the board or appointed by bodies corporate approved by the board for the purpose (one of which may be designated as the Kaitiaki Kaupapa).

The constitution will operate as if sections 96, 97(1), 99, 101, 102, 104 and 105 of the Education Act 1989 apply where relevant.

This notice takes effect the day of its publication.

Explanatory Note: No current parent representative, staff representative, co-opted or appointed trustee (including any Kaitiaki Kaupapa) shall go out of office as a result of this amendment.

Reopening of Omaka Cemetery, Marlborough, Order

I, Fran McGrath, Acting Director of Public Health, Ministry of Health, acting under delegation from the Minister of Health, on the application of the Marlborough District Council, and being satisfied that the provisions of section 45A(1) of the Burial and Cremation Act 1964 have been met, hereby make the following order:

The Omaka Cemetery, Marlborough, shall be reopened on and from 19 August 2011.
