Electricity Authority

Electricity Authority (“Authority”) adopts a replacement policy statement for the purposes of clause 8.9 of the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 (“Code”).

  1. The adoption of the policy statement has effect from 1 September 2011.

  2. The policy statement is a document incorporated by reference into the Code as having legal effect in accordance with section 32 of the Act.

  3. A copy of the policy statement and the Code is available on the Authority’s website

  1. A copy of the policy statement and the Code may also be inspected free of charge or purchased from the Electricity Authority, Level 7, ASB Bank Tower, 2 Hunter Street, Wellington.

Notice of Exemption from Marine Protection Rules: 101A.7(3); 101A.7(4)(a)

Pursuant to section 395(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting of the following exemptions:

  • 1 from Marine Protection Rule 101A.7(3) – Surveys and Inspections – Oil – Enhanced surveys for oil tankers – oil tanker must have on board complete file of survey reports including the results of all scantling measurement required, as well as the statement of the structural work carried out
  • 1 from Marine Protection Rule 101A.4(a) – Surveys and Inspections – Oil – Enhanced surveys for oil tankers – file required under rule 101A.7(3) is accompanied by a condition evaluation report

Notice of Exemption from Maritime Rules: 20.6; 21.13(1)(b); 21.13(10); 40C.29(2)(e); 46.17; 90.41(1)(d)

Pursuant to section 47(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting of the following exemptions:

  • 1 from Maritime Rule 20.6 – Operating Limits – Assigning operating limits and operating within assigned limits – Requirement to operate within assigned limits – owner and the master of a ship must operate within whichever is the lesser of operating limits assigned under rule 20.5(1) or operating limits assigned to the master under any maritime rule

  • 1 from Maritime Rule 21.13(1)(b) – Safe Ship Management Systems – Entry to and conditions to be met in order for ship to remain in Safe Ship Management System – New Zealand Safe Ship Management Certificate issued by Director

  • 1 from Maritime Rule 21.13(10) – Safe Ship Management Systems – Entry to and conditions to be met in order for ship to remain in Safe Ship Management System – organisation must carry out inspections of each ship from time to time to ensure that the ship and its equipment are being maintained in accordance with the approved maintenance plan and remain fit for their intended purpose

  • 1 from Maritime Rule 40C.29(2)(e) – Design, Construction and Equipment Non-Passenger Ships that are not SOLAS Ships – General Non-Passenger Ships – Machinery – Petrol inboard and outboard engines – ship fitted with single outboard engine proceeding beyond enclosed waters must have auxiliary outboard engine to enable safe return to port or safe haven

  • 1 from Maritime Rule 46.17 – Surveys, Certification and Maintenance – Ships which do not proceed beyond restricted limits, fishing ships, and ships of less than 45 metres in length – Inspections

  • 4 from Maritime Rule 90.41(1)(d) – Pilotage – Pilot licences – Application for pilot licence – provide evidence, satisfactory to the Director, of having successfully completed a structured training programme, approved by the Director, for the issue of a pilot licence for the pilotage area for which the licence is sought
