Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act 1997

Notice of Intention to Make a Recommendation Under Section 83 of the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act 1997

Pursuant to section 75 of the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act 1997 (“the Act”), I give notice of my intention to make a recommendation to the Governor-General, under section 83 of the Act, to make Regulations that amend Schedules 2 and 3 of the Act.

The effect of the Regulations will be to add to Schedule 2 (Permanent Exemptions) and omit from Schedule 3 (Special Exemptions) the following laws.

Laws relating to dangerous goods, hazardous substances, and industrial chemicals:

  • The Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996.

Laws relating to electromagnetic compatibility and radiocommunications equipment:

  • Regulation 32 of the Radiocommunications Regulations 2001.

Laws relating to gas appliance standards:

  • Gas Act 1992 and Gas Regulations 1993.

Laws relating to road vehicles:

  • Transport Act 1962.
  • Road User Charges Act 1977.
  • Land Transport Act 1998.

Laws relating to therapeutic goods:

  • Misuse of Drugs Act 1975.
  • Medicines Act 1981.
  • Dietary Supplements Regulations 1985.

The making of such a recommendation is subject to my being satisfied, as required by section 83(2)(b) of the Act, that no fewer than two-thirds of the participating jurisdictions have endorsed the terms of the proposed Regulations, as more than five years have elapsed since section 81 of the Act came into force.

Revocation of Alternative Constitution for the Board of Trustees of Benneydale School (161)

Pursuant to section 105A of the Education Act 1989, I hereby revoke the notice headed Alternative Constitution for the Board of Trustees of Benneydale School (161) dated the 14th day of February 2005 and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 24 February 2005, No. 41, page 1051.

This notice takes effect the day that elected trustees take office in accordance with section 102 of the Education Act 1989 following the board triennial elections to be held in 2010.
