Pharmacy-only Medicine
Codeine; in medicines for oral use, containing not more than 15 milligrams of codeine per solid dosage unit or per dose of liquid with a maximum daily dose not exceeding 100 milligrams of codeine, when combined with one or more active ingredients, in such a way that the substance cannot be recovered by readily applicable means or in a yield which would constitute a risk to health, for the treatment of the symptoms of cough and cold and when sold in a pack of not more than six days’ supply, approved by the Minister or the Director-General for distribution as a pharmacy-only medicine.

Advice Notice to General Practitioners Concerning Patient Benefits and Other Subsidies (Amendment No. 11)
Pursuant to sections 88(1) and (3) of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000, and with the approval of the Minister of Health under section 89(3) of that Act, the Northland District Health Board, Waitemata District Health Board, Auckland District Health Board, Counties Manukau District Health Board, Waikato District Health Board, Lakes District Health Board, Bay of Plenty District Health Board, Tairawhiti District Health Board, Taranaki District Health Board, Hawke’s Bay District Health Board, Whanganui District Health Board, MidCentral District Health Board, Hutt District Health Board, Capital & Coast District Health Board, Wairarapa District Health Board, Nelson Marlborough District Health Board, West Coast District Health Board, Canterbury District Health Board, South Canterbury District Health Board and Southern District Health Board give the following notice.
Notice
- Title—(1) This notice is the Advice Notice to General Practitioners Concerning Patient Benefits and Other Subsidies (Amendment No. 11).
(2) In this notice, the Advice Notice to General Practitioners Concerning Patient Benefits and Other Subsidies(^1) is called the “principal notice”.

Commencement—This notice comes into force on 1 October 2010.

Amendment—Part B of the principal notice is amended as follows:
(a) Clause 8 is amended by omitting “inclusive of GST at the applicable rates” and substituting “exclusive of GST, unless this Notice expressly provides otherwise”.
(b) Clause 9.6 of Schedule 1 is amended by omitting “$11.00” and substituting “$9.78”.
(c) Appendix I of Schedule 2 is amended by omitting the table and substituting the following table:

(d) Clause 1.6 of Schedule 5 is amended by omitting “$75.00” and substituting “$66.67”.
(e) Clause 2.1.1 of Schedule 5 is amended by omitting “$75.00” and substituting “$66.67”.
- Statement of reasons for departure from terms and conditions of the principal notice for purposes of section 89(5) of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000—The terms and conditions in this notice depart from the terms and conditions in the principal notice to state payments in amounts exclusive of goods and services tax.
