Fisheries Act 1996

Fisheries (Bladder Kelp Sustainability Measures—Maximum Depth) Notice 2010 (No. F558)

Pursuant to section 11 of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title—This notice is the Fisheries (Bladder Kelp Sustainability Measures—Maximum Depth) Notice 2010.

  2. Commencement—This notice comes into force on 1 October 2010.

  3. Interpretation—In this notice, unless the context otherwise requires:

    • attached, in relation to bladder kelp, has the same meaning as in the Fisheries (Declaration of New Stocks Subject to and Stocks Determined Not to be Subject to Quota Management System) Notice 2009.
  4. Prohibition on taking attached bladder kelp at more than 1.2 metre depth—No person may take attached bladder kelp to the extent that it involves cutting the bladder kelp at a depth of more than 1.2 metres measured from the surface of the water.
