Ministerial Direction—Disability Allowance Amendment 2010
To: The Chief Executive of the Ministry of Social Development
Pursuant to section 5 of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister for Social Development and Employment makes the following instrument amending the Ministerial Direction – Disability Allowance given on 28 March 1999*.
Instrument

Title—This instrument is the Ministerial Direction – Disability Allowance Amendment 2010.

Commencement—This instrument comes into effect on the day that it is signed.

Direction amended—This instrument amends the Ministerial Direction – Disability Allowance.

Verification—The following clause is inserted after clause 3:
"3A For the purpose of clause 3(b), you may, at any time before the close of 31 December 2010, disregard any increase in an expense of an amount that you reasonably consider to be a result of the rate of goods and services tax increasing on 1 October 2010."

Explanatory Note
This note is not part of the instrument, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This instrument amends the Ministerial Direction – Disability Allowance to permit the chief executive, when reviewing a person’s entitlement to a disability allowance at any time before the close of 31 December 2010, to not require written verification of an amount that the chief executive reasonably considers to be a result of the rate of goods and services tax increasing on 1 October 2010.
This instrument comes into effect on the day that it is signed.
