Important Notes Relating to Allocation Tables:

  1. Quota licences for the United States, European Communities and Dominican Republic are valid from 1 January 2011 to 31 December 2011. Quota licences for prepared edible fat to Japan are valid from 1 April 2011 to 31 March 2012.

  2. Quota licences are subject to the European Union requirements limiting total butter quota volume in the first sub-period of the 2011 calendar year butter quota. No more than 50 per cent of the total quantity for the year may be used in the first sub-period (from 1 January to 30 June). However, any quantity not used in the first sub-period may be used in the second sub-period (1 July to 31 December).

  3. All quantities listed are in kilograms. Some quantities listed have been rounded to the nearest kilogram.

  4. NSPF cheese is cows’ milk cheese not specifically provided for elsewhere in the schedule of United States tariff rate quotas for cheese.

Pork Industry Board Performance and Efficiency – Terms of Reference

I hereby give notice that, pursuant to section 30(5) of the Pork Industry Board Act 1997, after consultation with the New Zealand Pork Industry Board (“the Board”), I have by written notice to the Board, prescribed the terms of reference for 2010 performance and efficiency audit of the Board.

Conservation

Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978

Renewal of Application to Take Marine Mammals

Pursuant to section 5 of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978, the New Zealand King Salmon Company Limited has applied to the Director-General of Conservation to renew and amend its permit to “take” New Zealand fur seals at any of its approved (current or future) salmon farms in the Marlborough Sounds.

Currently approved sites under the Resource Management Act 1991 are:

  • Ruakaka Bay, Queen Charlotte Sound
  • Otanerau, Queen Charlotte Sound
  • Te Pangu Bay, Tory Channel
  • Clay Point, Tory Channel
  • Forsyth Bay, Pelorus Sound
  • Waihinau Bay, Pelorus Sound

Specifically, the application is for a permit:

  1. for a term of 15 years, and any renewal thereof;
  2. to catch and release seals which have entered salmon cages;
  3. to harass seals while attempting to deter them from entering salmon farms; and
