Supplementary Integration Agreement

Pursuant to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that a supplementary integration agreement has been signed between the Minister of Education on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, acting through the Group Manager, Schools and Student Support, Ministry of Education, pursuant to delegated authority, and the proprietor of the following school:

South Auckland Seventh-Day Adventist Primary School.

The said supplementary integration agreement was executed on 11 January 2010.

A copy of the supplementary integration agreement is available for inspection without charge by any member of the public at the regional office of the Ministry of Education, 12–18 Normanby Road, Mt Eden, Auckland.

Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998

Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Notice (No. 1) 2010 (No. F507)

Pursuant to Regulation 9 of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998, the Acting Customary Relationship Manager (Deed of Settlement Implementation Programme) at the Ministry of Fisheries (acting pursuant to a delegated authority in accordance with section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988) gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Notice (No. 1) 2010.

(2) This notice shall come into effect on 15 January 2010.

  1. Interpretation—In this notice:

(a) "whāngai-tai" and "mahinga kai" are local dialect words that have the same meaning as "customary food-gathering", a term that is defined in the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing Regulations) 1998.

(b) "Tchakat Kitaki" and "Tangata Kaitiaki" are local dialect words that have the same meaning as "Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki", a term that is defined in the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998.

(c) "Tchakat Kitaki" and "Tangata Kaitiaki" mean the person or persons appointed under Regulation 9 of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998 for the management of either whāngai-tai or mahinga kai within the area/rohe moana.

(d) "area/rohe moana" means all fisheries waters (including inland waters) enclosed by a line with each point being 200nm from the mean high-water mark of all islands in the Chatham Islands Group.

  1. Nomination of Tchakat Kitaki/Tangata Kaitiaki
    The Pā Tangaroa Fisheries Forum, acting for Moriori and Ngāti Mutunga, have nominated Mana Cracknell, Leon Goomes, Amanda King, Shirley King and Rana Solomon as Tchakat Kitaki to manage whāngai-tai within the area/rohe moana; and Jack Daymond, Alan Harvey, Robin Page, Kevin Maeo Thomas, Trudee Thomas, Albert Tuuta, Jo Ann Tuuta and Eileen Isobel Whaitiri as Tangata Kaitiaki to manage mahinga kai within the area/rohe moana.

  2. Appointment of Tchakat Kitaki/Tangata Kaitiaki
    On 16 December 2009, the Minister of Fisheries confirmed, under Regulation 9(1) of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998, the appointment of Mana Cracknell, Leon Goomes, Amanda King, Shirley King and Rana Solomon as Tchakat Kitaki for managing whāngai-tai within the area/rohe moana; and Jack Daymond, Alan Harvey, Robin Page, Kevin Maeo Thomas, Trudee Thomas, Albert Tuuta, Jo Ann Tuuta and Eileen Isobel Whaitiri as Tangata Kaitiaki for managing mahinga kai within the area/rohe moana.

  3. Confirmation of tangata whenua—Moriori and Ngāti Mutunga, as represented in terms of these appointments by the Pā Tangaroa Fisheries Forum, are confirmed as the tangata whenua of the area/rohe moana to which the appointment of Tchakat Kitaki and Tangata Kaitiaki relates.
