Tax Administration Act 1994

Notice of Product Rulings

1. This is a notice of product rulings made under section 91F of the Tax Administration Act 1994.

2. Product rulings No. 09/03, 09/04, 09/05 and 09/06 were issued on 20 April 2009, to Reach Media New Zealand Limited. They relate to, respectively:

   • the engagement of drivers to deliver unaddressed mail to pre-determined drop-off locations;
   • the engagement of supervisors to provide supervisory services in country areas in relation to the delivery of unaddressed mail;
   • the engagement of distributors for the delivery of unaddressed mail to households and other premises; and
   • the engagement of supervisors to provide supervisory services in metropolitan areas in relation to the delivery of unaddressed mail.

   The rulings will appear in Inland Revenue’s Tax Information Bulletin, Vol. 21, No. 6, of August 2009.

Gambling Act 2003

Amendments to the Rules of Casino Table Games, and the Rules of Casino Keno, Racing Game and Gaming Machines

The Rules of Casino Table Games, and the Rules of Casino Keno, Racing Game and Gaming Machines have been amended pursuant to section 367 of the Gambling Act 2003.

The amendments to the Rules of Casino Table Games include:

• Division 5 – Baccarat;
• Division 15 – Pontoon; and
• Division 18 – Casino War.

The amendment to the Rules of Casino Keno, Racing Game and Gaming Machines includes:

• Division III – Electronic Gaming Machines.

These amendments, all prescribed on 30 June 2009, will take effect on 3 July 2009.

Amendment to the Gambling Act (Casino Gambling Equipment) Minimum Standard 2004

The Gambling Act (Casino Gambling Equipment) Minimum Standard 2004 has been amended pursuant to section 327 of the Gambling Act 2003.

The amendment includes:

• The amendment to Division 15 – Pontoon as prescribed on 30 June 2009.

This amendment will take effect on 3 July 2009.
