Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to Regulation 12(1)(b) of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary for Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated 24 January 2006, which was granted under those Regulations to Marlene Wilkins in respect of Tiny Tots Childcare Centre (20175), situated at 31 Huka Road, Birkenhead, Auckland.

This cancellation also has the effect of cancelling any provisional licence issued to this service.

The Correspondence School Enrolment Policy Amendment Notice 2009

Pursuant to section 7 of the Education Act 1989, I publish the following notice.

Notice

1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as The Correspondence School Enrolment Policy Amendment Notice 2009.

(2) This notice shall take effect on 30 June 2009.

2. Amendment—The Correspondence School Enrolment Policy, published as a Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette, 11 March 2009, No. 30, page 787, is hereby varied by adding, before the heading “Early Childhood Education”, the following paragraphs:

(a) The Secretary for Education may, subject to paragraph (b), vary the entry criteria for the enrolment categories and gateways for The Correspondence School; and

(b) This discretion is to be used on a case by case, time-bound and exceptional basis and only for the purpose of addressing specific issues that in the opinion of the Secretary for Education reflect capacity and or capability needs in the early childhood or schooling sectors.
