Appointments to the Commerce Commission

The following appointments have been made to the Commerce Commission, as established under the Commerce Act 1986:

Susan Janice Begg, of Wellington

has been appointed by the Administrator of the Government as a member of the Commerce Commission pursuant to section 28(1)(b) of the Crown Entities Act 2004 and section 9 of the Commerce Act 1986. The term of appointment is for a period of five years commencing on 17 June 2009 and expiring on 16 June 2014; and

Patrick John Duignan, of Wellington

has been appointed by the Minister of Commerce as an associate member of the Commerce Commission pursuant to section 11(1) of the Commerce Act 1986, in relation to matters arising under the Commerce Act 1986, the Dairy Industry Restructuring Act 2001 and the Telecommunications Act 2001. The term of appointment is for a period of five years commencing on 10 June 2009 and expiring on 9 June 2014.
